  • The Alabama Automated Clearing House Association (ALACHA) is one of twenty Regional Payment Associations under the National ACH Association (NACHA) umbrella. It is the vision of ALACHA to be the premier Regional ACH Payment Association for financial institutions and affiliate members based in Alabama. To realize our vision, ALACHA is committed to providing excellence in education, marketing and technical support to members engaged in the origination and receipt of ACH transactions. ALACHA is a not-for-profit trade association with over 200 members.
    Goals:
    • Provide educational and training services to ALACHA members, and their customers, with the objective of enhancing their understanding and use of the ACH Network.
    • Develop marketing and promotional campaigns that will result in increased use of the ACH Network, and greater recognition of ALACHA's role in ACH commerce.
    • Provide technical support to ALACHA members, and their customers, participating in the origination and receipt of ACH transactions.
    • Insure that the interest, concerns and issues affecting ALACHA members, and their customers, are represented in the rules and policy development at the national level (NACHA).
    • Work with NACHA in implementing and enforcing standards that improve the quality of the ACH Network.
    • Monitor legislative and regulatory proposals that would affect the ACH Network, and establish communications that facilitate ALACHA members' response to the appropriate governing authority.
    History of ALACHA:
ALACHA was established in 1976 as the premier regional payment association in the state of Alabama. Since then, ALACHA has continued to grow and address the key issues facing the ACH industry.

    Organization:
The association is governed by a 10-member Board comprised of leaders from the top financial institutions within the state. An Executive Committee develops the strategic direction of the association and its day-to-day operation.
