4th Quarter 2004 ACH statistics

Attached are two summaries of ACH statistics for the 4th quarter 2004. In the 4th quarter there were 2,442,293,286 ACH payments, an increase of 5.66% over the previous quarter, and an increase of 21.34% over the 4th quarter 2003. The number of ARC payments increased by 58 million to 324,275,474; ARC accounted for 44.3% of ACH growth for the quarter. The five e-check applications (ARC, POP, RCK, TEL, WEB) combined for 625.4 million payments in the 4th quarter. These figures do not include estimates of on-us payments.
