2nd Quarter 2005 ACH statistics

Attached are two summaries of ACH statistics for the 2nd quarter 2005. In the 2nd quarter there were 2,631,646,194 ACH payments, an increase of 3.54% over the previous quarter, and an increase of 17.97% over the 2nd quarter 2004. A decline in Federal government ACH payments (most likely due to the end of tax season and Direct Deposit of refunds) somewhat masks a better performance by financial institutions of 5.0% and 19.8%, respectively, over the previous quarter and a year ago. These figures do not include estimates of on-us payments.
